so i just received the 3rd chapter of my second novel, igniting the shadows, from my editor. i haven't time to look at it yet. since i use scrivners, she is sending it back to me, chapter by chapter, as a pdf. its the simplest way to do it since scrivners doesn't really allow you to send the file by email easily. so when i received the first chapter i eagerly read it on my iphone and realized, for reasons unknown to me, i could edit the pdf. there was a pencil option.
however, there is a catch. you can only edit in email mode. then, once you're in editing mode to get out you have 2 options. discard all edits or accept them and email them back to whomever sent it to you. it also allows you to change the email addy
so this means, in order to not trigger my ocd, i need to sit thru and plow thru the entire chapter in one go. or forgo reading my email for awhile. chapter 2 brought me too much stress when my phone died having not liked being stuck in email mode for hours.
i will attempt the edits this saturday when i have, what i hope, a relatively easy gig at work.
today i got thru 13 pages of my 3rd novel. its just under 200 pages so i'm 1/10th of the way thru it. i have left it at work since tomorrow we are working the equivalent of a kareoke elvis. soooooo next to no lighting :( but the :) is i'll have time to edit the manuscript.
at this particular moment i am finally taking a moment to rest after a whirlwind 2 hours. on the way home from work i popped by the grocery store for a few things. as soon as i got home i began to prepare my bento box's for the next 2 days. (tomorrow goes late and saturday starts super early). i have made japanese potato salad, steamed broccoli, made sauted peppers, made lotus saute and am currently steaming (after 3 time proofing) hirata buns for sandwiches tomorrow. and of course constantly doing dishes as i go along.
the most exciting part of this whole cooking adventures is using my new T-Fal 48 in 1 rice/multi cooker.
i burnt the crap out of my cheapie push the switch down and do your thing rice cooker when i attempted to bypass the switch and make rice cooker cheesecake. guess the woman in the youtube video had a fancy pants rice cooker. cuz my switch popped off after 10 minutes and it wasn't near cooked.
soo i bought mr T-fal. i found him accidentally while searching online for rice cooker prices to compare when i went to the T&T supermarket next. this guy was more than 50% off and had a congee setting. i was sold. since getting it home i have realized its beyond amazing. i mean seriously. i now have a slow cooker for sale if anyone wants it. so far i have used the warming feature to proof the buns. now i'm using the steaming feature to steam the buns. i will have to update you tomorrow on how they turned out/tasted. they have quite awhile to go to bake. after the buns are done i will put pork belly in the pot to slow cook over night.
yeah, that is damn cook. using 3 features in one night. amazing!
well, i think its time to go do a little sewing prep and warm me up some milk tea and make a snack (i haven't had dinner, just nibbling as I was cooking)
