turkey time

i've brought back an old tradition i had long ago, before i joined cirque. i had orphans turkey dinner for thanksgiving. because i had always thought that no one would be as mad as me to make a full on meal for just one person. plus the company of friends is always great!

its just past noon and the turkey has been in for an hour and already basted once. i got to enjoy my year tradition of sending my dad a text of "stuffing recipie please. my turkey is 5.5 kg and i want it done by 6pm. what time in and what temp". i mean, i know the recipie by heart and i could do the math. but i like texting my dad for this. all of us in my family are terrible at keeping in touch consistently. we all sorta lack the concept of time passing. so a year could go by and i only feel like i just talked to my dad yesterday. this keeps me from constantly forgetting to say hello

i baked pumpkin pie last night. i'm not sure how or why store bought pies are a brownish orange. but mine are always yellow. even though the pumpkin is a light orange. i'm hoping my neighbors will come home soon so i can give them a pie. otherwise i'm taking it to work tomorrow. hmmm, there's a thought. pie for cirque.

carrots are cut up and in 2 pots, brussel sprouts are cut up and in a pot, potatoes are cut up and in a pot. table is set with linens and plates. glasses are being washed in the dishwasher as we speak. it'll probably be a few hours before anyone gets here so i'm debating on video games or some sewing. i'm feeling tired so i may just chill and read. maybe i'll start majora's mask. . . .

hope everyone has a lovely turkey day!
