as soon as i launched my second novel, Igniting the Shadows, i had to switch gears completely and focus on my sewing. Tomorrow (the 17th) i am selling at the L&S Winter Craft Fair in Langley BC. i was partially unprepared since i had focused most of my energies on my novel.

but in the last 10 days i have managed to finish sewing my inventory: makeup brush pouches, toques, undies and much much more. i've pimped up my layout making custom labels holders out of clothes pins and popsicle sticks. i've prepped my computer with inventories, prices lists and more. i've packed it all up, prepped beyond prepped, sewn until i hated it. okay, i don't hate it, but i am a bit tired of it and i have a pile of clothes that need fixing/finishing and another pair of leggings i desperately need for work.

the hardest part of all was not writing. i needed to make sure i was ready before i could delve back into a new novel. i also got my results from the 48 hour new york short story contest. i managed to place in the top 15 but not quite high enough to move to the 3rd round. but still pretty proud of myself. i think i will most definitely enter it again next year.

but i have started a new novel. i'm making a fictionalized account of my life on tour with cirque. along with the romanticization of being on tour and with cirque, a whole lot of craziness went on my tour. i have been told many times how crazy my life was and now i want to share it with the world. so its been a few days tripping down memory lane. but i'm already at 6500 words and still going strong. i've not even made it past the first couple of months. i think a series may be brewing.....
